No, you just need to make an appointment.
We Bulk Bill Age Pension, Health Care and Veteran Affairs card holders. All other consultations attract a fee payable at time of consultation. For more information regarding fees please call (02) 9743 0898.
Optometrist consultations are claimable under Medicare. Rebates will vary depending on when and where you had your last eye examination.
We will process your Medicare claim on the spot.
Spectacles and contact lenses are rebatable if you have extras cover with your private health insurance. Cover varies across suppliers and policies so you may want to check your entitlement with your insurer.
You can claim your rebate on the spot using HICAPS when you collect your goods. You will need to have your health fund card with you to do so. Depending on your policy you may have a gap payment.
We have EFTPOS facilities for Visa, Mastercard and American Express and a HICAPS terminal for claiming from your health fund. Cash and cheque are also welcome.
Please bring your Medicare card, Health care, Pension or Veteran Affairs card, your current spectacles and your sunglasses. If you take prescription medication bring a list of your current medications. If you are a contact lens wearer and have a copy of your prescription, please bring that with you.
Yes, in some cases but not always. The optometrist will advise you if drops are necessary to properly examine your eyes. It’s a good idea to bring sunglasses, just in case, as glare can be a problem when your pupils are dilated.
Yes. We are equipped to see children from age 4. For younger children we can recommend a paediatric eye specialist.
